Former Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairman Brian Colón has won his party’s nomination for lieutenant governor, pairing him with gubernatorial candidate Diane Denish in her quest to defeat Republican Susana Martinez in November.
With 87 percent of precincts reporting, Colón has 29 percent of the vote to Lawrence Rael’s 24 percent, Joe Campos’ 20 percent, Linda Lopez’s 15 percent and Jerry Ortiz y Pino’s 13 percent.
