Ray Powell has a solid lead in the Democratic primary race for land commissioner, but a large number of people remain undecided, according to a new poll conducted for New Mexico Politics with Joe Monahan.
Powell led with 37.5 percent of the vote to Sandy Jones’ 17.3 percent of the vote and Harry Montoya’s 15.9 percent. Some 29.3 percent of people were undecided, according to the polling memo.
The poll surveyed 352 likely Democratic primary voters on May 12. It was conducted by Dialing Services LLC of Roswell and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.22 percentage points.
