Democratic and Republican candidates for New Mexico commissioner of public lands will gather in Las Cruces on Thursday for a forum that is open to the public.
The forum will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road.
All five candidates – Democrats Sandy Jones, Harry Montoya and Ray Powell and Republicans Bob Cornelius and Matt Rush – have confirmed their attendance.
The forum is sponsored the New Mexico Wildlife Federation, Southwest Consolidated Sportsmen, Doña Ana County Associated Sportsmen, Southwest Environmental Center, New Mexico Wilderness Alliance, Mesilla Valley Audubon Society and Wild Turkey Sportsmen’s Association.
