I’ve already reported on early voting numbers from Doña Ana County, but turnout has been even better in Bernalillo County, where 15.29 percent of Republicans and 8.6 percent of Democrats had voted early and absentee as of Saturday.
Saturday was the last day of early voting. It’s likely that most absentee ballots that will be cast have already been cast, but absentee ballots can be returned to the county clerk’s office until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
In Bernalillo County, some 19,117 Republicans and 15,919 Democrats had voted early and absentee as of Saturday, County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver said. That’s out of 125,039 registered Republicans and 185,008 registered Democrats.
There were 1,812 outstanding Republican absentee ballots and 2,223 outstanding Democratic absentee ballots that could be turned in before polls close on Tuesday.
