Brian Colón is in the lead in the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for lieutenant governor, according to a new poll conducted for New Mexico Politics with Joe Monahan.
Colón led with 20.6 percent of the vote to Lawrence Rael’s 13.5 percent, Joe Campos’ 12.9 percent, Jerry Ortiz y Pino’s 9.6 percent and Linda Lopez’s 8.9 percent. The poll surveyed 356 likely Democratic primary voters on Wednesday. It was conducted by Dialing Services LLC of Roswell and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.19 percentage points, according to the polling memo.
Some 34.6 percent of those surveyed said they were undecided, which suggests that the race is still up for grabs. But Colón is well positioned heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
