VIDEO: PRC candidate grilled at Valencia County meeting

Kent Evans

Republican Kent Evans, who’s running for the District 5 spot on the Public Regulation Commission, is getting attention because of an online video showing him having a difficult time answering questions at a meeting in Valencia County.

You can watch the video (complete with commentary from its anonymous editor and publisher) here:

The video was promoted today by the state Democratic Party in an e-mail to journalists.

“The problem is (Evans) can’t seem to answer any of their questions,” Democratic Party spokesman James Hallinan wrote in the e-mail. “He is called out by the people in attendance for not being prepared, and not seeming to know much of anything about the PRC.”

One of Evans’ opponents in the GOP primary, Jamie Estrada, also recently highlighted the video in comments made for an article on NMPolitics.net about an “Action Plan” for reforming the PRC that Evans announced earlier this week.

“For a clear idea of Mr. Evans’ own “Action Plan,” I would direct voters to the YouTube video of Mr. Evans at a recent Valencia County political meeting,” Estrada said.
