The House Appropriations and Finance Committee may consider another bill that would expand webcasting this afternoon.

House Joint Memorial 15, sponsored by Rep. Jeff Steinborn, D-Las Cruces, would request that Legislative Council Service, “within budgetary and technological constraints,” webcast audio and video of interim committee meetings starting this year.

The committee meets in Room 307 at the Roundhouse this afternoon. The memorial would need approval of the House and Senate to be enacted.

The House has already taken two steps to increase webcasting this year by expanding webcasting from the floor to include video and requiring audio webcasting of committee meetings this session. Starting next year, committee webcasting will be expanded to include video.
