Last week’s non-scientific polls on this site asked about the upcoming Las Cruces City Council election. Here are the results:
In the District 3 race, in which there were 227 votes, challenger Olga Pedroza narrowly defeated incumbent Dolores C. Archuleta. Pedroza had 110 votes, or 48 percent, to Archuleta’s 104, or 46 percent. Some 13 voters, or 6 percent, said they don’t know which candidate they support.
In the District 5 race, in which there were 189 votes, challenger Gill M. Sorg had 113 votes, or 60 percent, to incumbent Gil Jones’ 65 votes, or 34 percent. Some 11 voters, or 6 percent, said they don’t know which candidate they support.
In the District 6 race, in which there were 213 votes, incumbent Sharon K. Thomas had 121 votes, or 57 percent, to challenger James W. Harbison’s 84 votes, or 39 percent. Some eight voters, or 4 percent, said they don’t know which candidate they support.
