With most candidates organizing their supporters to vote, Brian Colón emerged with the most votes in last week’s non-scientific poll on this site asking which declared Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor would win the primary.
Of 1,895 votes cast, 669, or 35 percent, went to Colón. Coming in second was Greg Solano with 469 votes, or 25 percent.
Jose Campos had 301 votes, or 16 percent, while Gerald Ortiz y Pino had 216 votes, or 11 percent, and Lawrence Rael had 182 votes, or 10 percent. Coming in last was Linda Lopez, who had 58 votes, or 3 percent.
The poll received the attention of The Santa Fe New Mexican’s Steve Terrell, who dubbed this site’s weekly polls “NM’s straw poll.”
