A number of high-profile Democrats in Washington have been helping U.S. Rep. Harry Teague, D-N.M., raise money for his re-election campaign lately. He’ll get help from another on Wednesday when Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack makes a stop in Mesilla.
Teague will hold a “breakfast and discussion” with “special guest” Vilsack on Wednesday from 8-9:30 a.m. at Meson De Mesilla, 1803 Avenida de Mesilla, according to the event invitation. Though there’s no indication that a contribution to Teague’s campaign is required, a contribution form is attached to the invitation.
Teague is in a tough re-election battle against his predecessor, former U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M. It’s one of the hottest House races in the nation, and Teague has been getting a lot of help from Washington Democrats.
For example, Energy Secretary Steven Chu attended a fundraiser for Teague in Las Cruces last month. And several high-profile House Democrats held a fundraiser for Teague on Wednesday.
