Visitation will be held Thursday and a funeral service will be held Friday for Debi Rounds, wife of Las Cruces Public Schools Superintendent Stan Rounds, who died earlier this week.
The visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, the school district announced this evening. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Las Cruces. Burial will be in Plainview, Texas.
Debi Rounds died in Santa Fe on Monday while her husband was attending a hearing at the Roundhouse. She was 52.
She has been an active volunteer since moving to Las Cruces two years ago, serving on the board of the Doña Ana Arts Council, the bell choir at her church and in the Rio Grande Rotary Club.
“The LCPS community is extremely saddened by Debi’s passing,” said Jo Galvan, LCPS spokeswoman. “She was a beautiful person — full of smiles and laughter.”
