White’s new ad hits Heinrich on streetcar vote

1st Congressional District Republican candidate Darren White’s new TV ad hits Democratic opponent Martin Heinrich for his vote as an Albuquerque city councilor to extend a tax to help fund a controversial streetcar project.

Here’s the 30-second spot:

“Martin Heinrich’s personal attacks: ‘false… deceptive.’ His record is worse,” the ad’s narrator states. “On the city council, Heinrich cut a shady deal to extend our sales taxes for 10 years without voter approval. Why? To pay for a $270 million trolley car for his Nob Hill neighborhood. The paper blasted the scheme as a ‘bait and switch.’ Higher taxes for us. A trolley car for Heinrich. We can’t trust Martin Heinrich.”
