Early voting is underway in Doña Ana County

Early voting is underway and lasts through May 31 in Doña Ana County and around the state for the June 3 primary.

The main early voting site – the county Bureau of Elections – is located in the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces.

The elections bureau is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the exception of the Memorial Day holiday on May 26. In accordance with state law, the Bureau of Elections will offer additional early voting from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.

Additional early-voting sites will open on Saturday, with voting from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the following locations:

Anthony Community Center, 675 N. Main St. in Anthony

Hatch Community Center, 837 Highway 137 in Hatch

Chaparral Wright Park, 150 W. Lisa Dr. in Chaparral

Sunland Park Library, 984 McNutt Rd. in Sunland Park

Sonoma Elementary School, 4201 Northrise St. in Las Cruces

• Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. in Las Cruces

The Branigan Library and Chaparral Wright Park early-voting locations are new in 2008.

“We added the Branigan Library site to make it easier for people to vote in Las Cruces who rely on the city’s bus system,” Bureau of Elections Technician Mario O. Jimenez said. “The Chaparral site was added so that residents of that community didn’t have to drive all the way to Anthony.”
