Kennedy to visit state for Obama on Thursday

Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., will be in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on Thursday to campaign for Barack Obama.

The visits will come the same day that Bill Clinton will be in the state to campaign for his wife Hillary’s campaign.

Kennedy will hold a public event in Albuquerque on Thursday morning at the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Salon Ortega. The building is located at 1701 4th Street. Doors open at 10 a.m., and those who plan to attend should RSVP to tedwards@barackobama.com.

Kennedy’s “Change We Can Believe In” community gatherings will continue in Santa Fe at Santa Fe Community College’s Jemez Room One. The college is located at 6401 Richards Avenue, and doors open at 1:30 p.m. Those who plan to attend this event should also RSVP to tedwards@barackobama.com.

Other than the details of Kennedy’s visit, nothing has changed since the schedule I published on Tuesday. We know Obama will be in Santa Fe and Albuquerque on Friday, but have no other details. We know Hillary Clinton will be in New Mexico before Feb. 5 – and is expected to be here Saturday – and that her daughter Chelsea may also come to New Mexico – but we have no other details.
