With only one polling place to count each in districts 1 and 4, Miguel Silva has secured 520 votes – or 45 percent – in the District 1 race, and Nathan Small has secured 486 votes – or 42 percent – in the District 4 race.
In races with more than two candidates, a candidate has to win 40 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff against the second-place candidate. It’s possible both will do that, and it’s looking likely at this point that 12-year District 1 Councilor José Frietze, who is 92 votes behind Silva, is going to lose.
