City election forum to be televised live

A forum involving candidates running in the Nov. 6 Las Cruces municipal election will be televised live.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Las Cruces forum will be held on Oct. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 200 N. Church St. It will also be broadcast live on Comcast cable channel 20, the city’s government access channel, the first time in Las Cruces that such a forum will be televised live.

“It will be an excellent opportunity for voters to get to know the candidates and learn about the issues,” said Donna Tate of the League of Women Voters.

The forum will include candidate running for mayor, city council districts 1, 2 and 4, and presiding municipal court judge.

Seating is limited for the forum. Those who attend will be allowed to submit questions that will be asked of the candidates.

The forum will also be broadcast live on the Internet. Video and audio will be broadcast at www.clctv.com, while an audio-only feed will be available at www.las-cruces.org.
