Alan Riehl to host The Morning Show

I just got back from spending about an hour on the radio with the new host of The Morning Show on KSNM-AM 570.

Alan Riehl seems to be an intelligent, friendly person.

Today was his first day on the air after Michael Swickard and Radio Las Cruces, the station’s parent company, parted ways on Tuesday. He’s still learning the setup, and there were a few kinks, but I think he’ll fill in nicely.

Riehl, 43, was born and raised in El Paso but came to Las Cruces in 1999. He’s married, has three stepchildren, and has worked behind the scenes for Radio Las Cruces and held other radio jobs in El Paso, Alamogordo and Las Cruces for several years.

He is also the author of two novels: Angel Falls, a Christian mystery, and Married alive, a comedy work of fiction. He’s currently working on a non-fiction book about the payday lending industry.

The show is on from 6-9 a.m. Monday through Friday. I’ll remain a regular guest on the show.
