Gonzales testifying on U.S. attorney firings today

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is testifying under oath today on the firings of eight U.S. attorneys. The hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to last most of the day, in part because testimony of other Justice Department staffers contradicts what Gonzales told the panel in January.
