Five applicants for the job of interim superintendent of the Las Cruces Public Schools will be interviewed Thursday by a group of 16 community members.
The group will choose finalists for the position. The names of those finalists will be announced publicly on Friday.
Jo Galvan, district communications director, said the committee is expected to send three to five names to the school board. They will interview those finalists on Feb. 20 before choosing an interim superintendent.
The candidate who is selected is expected to serve for at least a year while the board searches for a new superintendent.
