Gov. Bill Richardson has become a blogger.
In an attempt to inspire and woo liberal bloggers, Richardson has been shamelessly praising and giving interviews to them in recent weeks. Now he’s become one of them.
Richardson gave last weekend’s Democratic response to President Bush’s weekly radio address. His re-election campaign sent out an e-mail Saturday announcing that and providing links to his Web site, which lays out his plan “to turn the country around” and includes the text of his radio speech.
On Saturday, Richardson posted his first blog entry on Daily Kos, a liberal political site aimed at uniting and inspiring the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. The site’s founder is essentially the grandfather of the liberal blogger movement.
Richardson’s posting wasn’t much more than the e-mail the campaign sent out on Saturday announcing that he gave the Democrat’s radio address. And, of course, Richardson didn’t actually write it. But it’s another indication of our governor’s attempt to become popular far beyond New Mexico’s borders.
