Allen McCulloch pulled off a surprise win Tuesday night in the race to take on Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., in November.
So far he has 8,117 votes, or 56.3 percent, statewide. Joseph Carraro has 3,302 votes or 22.9 percent. David Pfeffer has 3,010 votes or 20.9 percent.
Many analysts predicted that McCulloch and Pfeffer would split the Anglo vote and Carraro would win.
So much for that.
