The race between Democrats Jim Baca and Ray Powell is still too close to call.
Baca is currently ahead with 11,466 votes statewide, or 53.1 percent. Powell has 10,132 votes or 46.9 percent.
“It’s going to be a long night,” Baca said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I really don’t.”
Powell said the same.
“We’ve done all our hard work, and it’s up to the voters,” he said. “No matter how it turns out, I’m going to support him and I know he’s going to support me so we put up a strong Democratic front.”
