2016 General Election is Here

The 2016 General Election is on November 8, 2016. We want everyone to vote so here are the dates & information that will help you get to the polls.

October 11, 2016 – Three important things happen: 1) Last day to register to vote; 2) EARLY VOTING begins at the Doña Ana County Government Center during regular office hours; and 3) we begin mailing absentee ballots. To request an absentee ballot, you must complete the absentee ballot application. Go on-line or drop by our office & we will assist you.

October 22, 2016 – Alternate early voting locations open throughout the county. These locations are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm. The locations are: DACC Sunland Park Center, DACC Chaparral Center, Anthony Elementary School, Thomas Branigan Library, Sonoma Elementary School, and the DACC Hatch Learning Center.

November 4, 2016 – This is the last day you can request an absentee ballot. Law requires that we mail absentee ballots to voters so the timeframe to get them turned into the Bureau of Elections is urgent by this date. Absentee ballots must be received in our office by 7pm on November 8.

November 5, 2016 – This is the final day of early voting. The Doña Ana County Government Center is open from 10am to 6pm. The remaining alternate locations are open from 11am to 7pm.

November 8, 2016 – Election Day. 40 Voting Convenience Centers are open from 7am to 7pm. You can vote at any of the locations throughout Doña Ana County. GO VOTE!

National Voter Registration Week: September 26-30 Volunteers wanted!

This year the Elections Advisory Council will organize a week long voter registration drive in 10 public high schools throughout the County to celebrate National Voter Registration day. We want to register as many students, teachers, and parents as possible throughout the week so that everyone is prepared to vote on November 8 in the general election.

We need at least 30 volunteers to fill shifts at the high schools during this week. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, call Rose Ann Vasquez at (575) 525-5968 for more information.

We hope you join us!
