The course on the state’s Open Meetings Act (OMA) and Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) is free and “designed to help government agencies and municipalities better understand the requirements” of the state laws, according to a news release. Balderas has already held several sunshine-law trainings around the state, as have previous attorneys general in New Mexico.

The Las Cruces training will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road. The AG’s Office asks that those who plan to attend RSVP to La Verne Roller at or by telephone at (505) 827-6070.
