Pastor comes to defense of Clovis mayoral hopeful

A controversial pastor who doesn’t believe President Barack Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen has come to the defense of a Clovis mayoral candidate involved in his movement.

James David Manning released the web video late last week. You can watch it here:

If you watch the video, you’ll see a statement on the screen claiming that NMPolitics.net has called Lansford a “wack job.” That’s not true.

What NMPolitics.net did was post a short article about the Clovis News Journal highlighting Lansford’s views that Obama is “the carnal manifestation of evil” and not a natural-born U.S. citizen. NMPolitics.net did not opine on those views.

Manning’s ATLAH Media Network is part of his ATLAH World Missionary Church. The pastor has been critical of Obama, having called the president’s mother “white trash” for becoming pregnant by a black man out of wedlock. Manning teaches that Harlem, in New York, is “the Land Anointed Holy” and opposes its gentrification.
