U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján

Sources tell NMPolitics.net that U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján, D-N.M., is considering running for the Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Jeff Bingaman, But Luján isn’t saying that.

“My focus at this time is on representing the people in my district as we work to turn our economy around, put people back to work, and move New Mexico forward,” Luján said in a prepared statement.

Of course, that isn’t the same as saying he’s not considering running for Senate.

  1. Hey Gof … JMartinez is referring to Ben Rays dad – Speaker Lujan … and the Speakers mojo isn’t as strong as it once was. Look for Congressman Lujan to remain in District 3 – good gig, and he DOES have a lot of work to do.

  2. jmartinez,
On what basis do you make a claim that the Representative from the north is a tyrant? If you say so, please back it up.

  3. If Speaker Lujan could pull this one off, he would certainly have another career in Las Vegas as the greatest Houdini!
Fortunately, I believe the voters are wise of his tyrant disposition. A tyrants strength is in his ability to place fear in the people. He has gold medal-ed in this arena. I believe the only populous that still fears him is our legislative branch as evidence of current session!

  4. Ben Ray cant win the state, and the NM Dems know it. The bellweather for a state wide race in NM is Albuquerque. We have a pretty close demographic of Dems and Repubs that mirrors the state.
