The Government Restructuring Task Force – a group of state lawmakers, executive-branch officials and members of the public who are exploring ideas to make government more effective and efficient – is seeking public input.

You can submit comments by clicking here. Comments, according to a news release, will be posted publicly to “help stimulate an online discussion of potential best practices.” The task force also plans to survey every state and local government employee on ways to make government more efficient.

“The financial challenges the state is facing present us with a tremendous opportunity to examine state government’s core services and make sure we’re providing those services in the most cost-effective way,” said Sen. Tim Eichenberg, D-Albuquerque and the task force chairman. “This is a big job and we need everyone’s suggestions.”

Background on the task force’s work, including material presented to the task force, is available here.
